Job Description
Hydro-Québec is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as an Energy Efficiency Home Auditor (Trainee). This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a rewarding career in the energy efficiency sector. As a Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training to learn how to conduct residential energy audits, identify energy waste, and recommend improvements to homeowners in Rimouski and surrounding areas. No prior experience in energy auditing is required; we provide all the necessary training, tools, and a company vehicle for local travel. You will play a crucial role in helping our customers optimize their home energy usage and contribute to Quebec’s sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive training on energy auditing principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Conduct on-site residential energy assessments using specialized equipment (e.g., blower doors, thermal cameras) under supervision.
- Identify sources of energy loss, such as air leaks, inadequate insulation, and inefficient appliances.
- Collect accurate data and measurements related to home energy performance.
- Document findings clearly and concisely, preparing detailed audit reports.
- Educate homeowners on energy-saving opportunities and available Hydro-Québec programs.
- Provide recommendations for energy efficiency upgrades tailored to individual homes.
- Maintain company-provided equipment and vehicle in excellent working condition.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies during field visits.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Quebec Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Strong desire to learn and develop new technical skills.

- Comfortable working in various residential environments and crawl spaces.
