Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to join our operations in Chatham, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced electricians looking to advance their careers within a modern industrial setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in our manufacturing plant. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems and equipment in an industrial setting.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using various testing devices.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic diagrams.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards and codes (e.g., BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations).
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize system performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and implement corrective actions efficiently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification.
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs, HMI).
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with specific manufacturing machinery and automation systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
