Job Description

AECOM is seeking a dedicated and experienced Urban Planner / Town Planner to join our dynamic team in Bend, Oregon. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports on demographic, economic, social, and environmental factors affecting urban development.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, land use regulations, and urban design guidelines.
  • Prepare planning documents, presentations, and technical reports for public meetings, client presentations, and regulatory submissions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards and client expectations.
  • Facilitate community engagement processes, public workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, environmental scientists, and other professionals on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Provide expert advice on land use planning, development strategies, and regulatory compliance to clients and internal teams.
  • Review development proposals for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and planning principles.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, City Planning, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in urban or town planning.
  • Strong understanding of land use planning principles, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and CAD applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and public engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills.
  • Eligibility for visa sponsorship (e.g., H1B, TN, E-3, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • AICP certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience with public outreach and community engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of urban design principles and sustainable development practices.
  • Familiarity with planning policies and procedures specific to Oregon or the Pacific Northwest region.
