Job Description
As a Delivery Driver Offsider, you will work alongside our experienced drivers, assisting with the safe and efficient delivery of parcels to homes and businesses in and around the Cowley area. This is a physically demanding role, requiring you to be active throughout your shift, handling various package sizes and weights. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a great attitude and a willingness to work hard!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the delivery driver with loading and unloading parcels from the vehicle.
- Navigate routes and ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing DPD UK professionally.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Sort and organise parcels efficiently within the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with the driver and base team.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry parcels of varying weights.
- Reliability and punctuality for casual day shifts.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid UK driving license (even if not for this role, it shows commitment).
- Previous experience in a role requiring physical labour or customer interaction.
- Good local knowledge of Cowley and surrounding Oxfordshire areas.
