Job Description

Queen Elizabeth Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry Level X-Ray / Radiology File Clerk to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in a hospital setting, as full training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of our vital patient radiology records, ensuring our medical professionals have the information they need to provide exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately organize, file, and retrieve patient X-Ray and other radiology imaging files.
  • Perform data entry for patient information, imaging requests, and report tracking into hospital systems.
  • Scan and digitize physical records into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and security of all patient information and sensitive data.
  • Assist medical and administrative staff with file retrieval and general inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized filing area and workstation.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA).
  • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned by the Radiology Department Supervisor.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage physical and digital files.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with data entry tasks.
  • Ability to learn new software systems and procedures quickly.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an office or administrative support role (any industry).
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology (an asset, but not required).
  • Experience with scanning and digital archiving systems.
