Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and charming Weekend Lounge Hostess to be the first point of contact for our esteemed guests at The Velvet Lounge. This pivotal role is responsible for creating a welcoming and upscale first impression, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring a seamless flow of patrons into our exclusive lounge. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, creating a memorable first impression.
- Efficiently manage the lounge's seating chart and reservation system.
- Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and introducing them to their server.
- Maintain an accurate waitlist and inform guests of expected waiting times.
- Answer phone calls professionally and assist with guest inquiries and reservation requests.
- Monitor the lounge entrance and ambiance, ensuring a clean, organized, and inviting space.
- Assist with light cleaning duties and ensure all hostess station materials are stocked.
- Collaborate effectively with the service team, bartenders, and management to optimize guest experience.
- Handle guest concerns or special requests with grace and efficiency, escalating when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- A welcoming, polished, and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in managing reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy, or similar).
- Availability to work Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a high-end restaurant, lounge, or hotel setting.
- Familiarity with luxury hospitality standards and practices.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
