Job Description
Join Cleanaway as a Waste Sorter at our modern recycling facility in Griffith. This is an ongoing full-time position offering a stable career with a leading environmental services company. You will be an integral part of our team, responsible for sorting various materials to ensure they are correctly processed for recycling. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided to successful candidates. We are looking for reliable individuals who are committed to safety and contributing to a greener future.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort and separate recyclable materials such as plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, and metals on a conveyor belt or designated sorting area.
- Identify and remove non-recyclable items or contaminants from the material stream.
- Ensure the quality and cleanliness of sorted materials meet processing standards.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with general plant clean-up and maintenance as required.
- Operate basic machinery or equipment after receiving proper training.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or production environment (not essential, but an advantage).
- Forklift license (preferred, but not required).
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
