Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Urologist to join our esteemed medical team in Canterbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of urological conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and contributing to the overall success of our surgical department. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, utilizing advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques to provide comprehensive urological services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the urinary tract and male reproductive organs.
  • Perform various urological procedures, including both open and minimally invasive surgeries.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and education to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other medical specialists, including oncologists, nephrologists, and primary care physicians.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency urological care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Adhere to all medical ethics and professional standards.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Required Skills

  • Valid medical license to practice in the UK (GMC registration)
  • FRCS (Urol) or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Demonstrated expertise in general urology and common urological procedures
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sub-specialty interest or fellowship training in an area such as uro-oncology, female urology, or endourology.
  • Experience with robotic-assisted surgery.
  • Previous experience in a similar specialist role within the NHS or private sector.
  • Participation in clinical research or academic contributions.
