Job Description
We are seeking motivated and reliable Trenching Labourers to join our civil infrastructure team in Cairns. This is an ongoing full-time opportunity ideal for individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and are eager to contribute to significant infrastructure projects. While previous trenching experience is an advantage, we value attitude and a willingness to learn, and full training will be provided for the right candidates. You will be an integral part of our crew, assisting with the preparation and maintenance of trenches for various civil construction works, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the excavation, shoring, and backfilling of trenches.
- Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Adhering to all site safety procedures and regulations.
- Spotting for plant operators during excavation.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work site.
- Performing general labouring duties as required.
- Working effectively as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) for Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in civil construction or trenching.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience operating small plant or power tools.
