Job Description
Are you looking for a stable career path with full, paid training? Desert Shield Pest Solutions is searching for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Pest Control Technician to join our growing team in El Paso. No prior experience in pest control is necessary – we will provide you with all the knowledge, skills, and tools you need to become a certified and successful technician. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to learn a valuable trade, serve our community, and build a rewarding career. A company service van is provided for your daily routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete a comprehensive, paid training program covering pest biology, identification, treatment methods, and safety protocols.
- Shadow and assist experienced technicians on service routes to gain practical, hands-on experience.
- Learn to safely and effectively apply pest control products according to company standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining services, addressing concerns, and maintaining positive relationships.
- Accurately complete all necessary service documentation and reports.
- Operate and maintain company equipment and assigned service vehicle responsibly.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Develop the ability to inspect properties, identify pest infestations, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- No prior pest control experience is required; full training will be provided.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively after training.
- Physical ability to perform job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, crawling, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
- Customer-service oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or field service role.
- Basic computer literacy for completing service reports.
