As a Trainee Inspector, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, learning to conduct inspections of gas and electricity infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs, both classroom and field-based, to learn about gas and electricity distribution systems.
- Assist experienced inspectors in conducting routine safety and compliance inspections of gas and electrical infrastructure, including meters, lines, and related equipment.
- Learn to identify potential hazards, defects, and non-compliance issues and assist in documenting findings accurately.
- Understand and apply relevant safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, NESC).
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and specialized inspection equipment safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and occasionally customers regarding inspection activities and findings.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Complete necessary paperwork, reports, and digital documentation related to inspections.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
- Physical ability to perform field work, including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs, in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some experience in a role requiring attention to detail or adherence to procedures.
- Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical principles.
- Customer service experience.
