Job Description

Join TUI UK & Ireland as our Tour Operations Manager, based in Grimsby. This pivotal role requires a dynamic and experienced professional to oversee the seamless planning, execution, and management of our diverse tour operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring exceptional customer experiences, optimising operational efficiency, and maintaining our high standards across all tour products. This role demands a proactive leader who can manage complex logistics, lead a dedicated team, and ensure all tours run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of all assigned tour programmes, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with suppliers, partners, and local service providers.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate operations staff, fostering a high-performance team environment.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control for tour operations.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Prepare detailed operational reports for senior management.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, permits, and licenses are in place for tour operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in tour operations management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, including operational best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in travel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK, or meet the requirements for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) application.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with international tour operations and diverse cultural contexts.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., German, Spanish, French).
  • Project management certification.
  • Knowledge of sustainable tourism practices.
