Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Supply Chain Controller to join our dynamic team in Middlesbrough. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. The Supply Chain Controller will play a critical part in managing inventory, logistics, and supplier relationships, contributing significantly to our operational excellence and strategic growth. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock holding, reduce waste, and ensure product availability.
- Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to meet delivery targets efficiently.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Implement and enforce supply chain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize supply chain management software and tools to enhance visibility and control over operations.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, production, sales) to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
- Prepare regular reports on supply chain performance, costs, and risks for senior management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a supply chain management or logistics role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).
- Solid understanding of logistics, inventory management, and procurement principles.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, APICS CSCP or CPIM).
- Experience working within a large-scale logistics or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with international trade and customs regulations.
