Job Description
As a Subsea / Marine Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and implementation of cutting-edge subsea systems and marine structures. You will contribute to projects spanning various industries, including offshore oil and gas, renewable energy (offshore wind), and specialized marine operations. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance of our projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering design and analysis for subsea components, marine structures, and systems.
- Develop technical specifications, procedures, and reports for subsea installations and operations.
- Conduct structural, hydrodynamic, and fatigue analysis using industry-standard software.
- Participate in project planning, risk assessments, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure project success.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions to enhance project efficiency and safety.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering with a Marine focus, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in subsea or marine engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
- Strong understanding of marine mechanics, hydrodynamics, structural analysis, and materials science.
- Experience with relevant industry standards (e.g., DNV, API, ABS).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or eligibility for registration in British Columbia.
- Experience with offshore renewable energy projects (e.g., wind, tidal).
- Knowledge of subsea production systems (SPS) and subsea processing.
- Project management experience or certifications.
