Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Grangemouth. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to contribute to a variety of challenging and impactful projects within the civil and structural engineering sectors. This role is open to international candidates, and we are prepared to support successful applicants through the LMIA and Skilled Worker Visa process to facilitate their relocation to the UK. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and assessment of structural elements for a wide range of projects, from commercial buildings to industrial facilities and infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and sustainable designs. You will work within a collaborative environment, engaging with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various building and infrastructure projects using relevant software and codes.
- Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients to develop integrated design solutions.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments as required.
- Ensure designs comply with British Standards, Eurocodes, and other relevant regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
- Manage project timelines and budgets efficiently.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with structural designs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in structural design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Robot, Etabs, SAP2000, Tekla Structural Designer).
- Strong understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Experience with various construction materials, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Eligibility for LMIA/Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship (relevant experience and qualifications).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IStructE, or working towards chartership.
- Experience in industrial or petrochemical structural design.
- Familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Revit).
- Project management experience.
