Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join our Modern Languages department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Spanish lessons across various key stages, inspiring students to develop a love for the Spanish language and culture. You will play a crucial role in shaping young minds, contributing to curriculum development, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Spanish lessons to students across all key stages, adhering to the national curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning and progress of students, providing constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement creative and interactive teaching methods to engage students in language learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Modern Languages curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
  • Undertake pastoral duties as required, supporting the overall welfare of students.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Spanish or a related field.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish at secondary school level (24 months minimum).
  • Excellent classroom management and pedagogical skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching an additional modern language.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment design.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities related to language or culture.
