Job Description
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team in our new Providence office. This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, development, and deployment of critical software systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, scalability, and performance. You will be instrumental in shaping technical strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, and mentoring engineers to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for key software products and features.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from concept to deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, design, and other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of all developed software.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
- Conduct regular code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote engineering excellence.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience managing and leading diverse engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in modern programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, Go) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and deliver high-quality software.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience in data-driven decision making and A/B testing.
- Strong understanding of security best practices in software development.
- Track record of successfully launching and scaling complex software products.
