Job Description

We are seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our high-performing team in Bristol. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our critical cloud services. You will work on challenging problems, apply software engineering principles to operations, and continuously improve our systems and processes. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring, incident response, and automation, contributing directly to the stability and efficiency of our global infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and highly available systems.
  • Develop and deploy automation tools to reduce manual toil and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, responding to and resolving incidents swiftly.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production systems.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features and services are designed for reliability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Optimize application and infrastructure performance through proactive analysis and tuning.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with incident management and root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or related technologies.
