Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kingston, Ontario. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with development teams to identify, reproduce, and report defects, as well as contribute to the overall improvement of our testing processes. This position is open to candidates requiring sponsorship, demonstrating our commitment to building a diverse and global workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for software applications.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking systems.
- Collaborate with software developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure testability.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and other agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Provide clear and concise feedback on product quality to the team.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in creating and executing detailed test plans and test cases.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
- Familiarity with various testing types (functional, regression, integration).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Relevant QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
