Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through meticulous testing, defect identification, and collaboration with development teams. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong foundation in quality assurance principles and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, product owners, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Provide clear and concise status reports on testing activities and defect trends.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with test case management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- ISTQB certification.
