Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Pallet Repair Handyman to join our team in Fairfield, CA. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding wooden pallets to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming pallets for damage and assess repair needs.
- Use hand tools, including hammers, nail guns, saws, and pry bars, to repair or dismantle pallets.
- Replace broken or missing boards and blocks on wooden pallets.
- Ensure repaired pallets meet quality and safety standards before returning them to circulation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap wood and debris properly.
- Operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment to move pallets as needed (training provided).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their safe operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and repetitive movements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify damaged components.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with various types of wooden pallets.
- Experience with pneumatic tools (e.g., nail guns).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
