Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team in Moncton, New Brunswick. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Monitor network security systems for vulnerabilities, intrusions, and security events.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Configure and manage security devices and software, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to security policies.
- Develop and update security documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate security into new and existing systems.
- Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in network security engineering, including firewall management (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network architecture.
- Experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CISSP, CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with cloud security platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
