Job Description
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as National Statistics Data Collectors. This hybrid role involves both field visits to collect essential data from households and businesses, and office-based tasks for data entry, verification, and administrative support. You will play a crucial role in gathering accurate and timely information for national surveys and censuses, contributing directly to Canada’s statistical landscape. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this important public service role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person interviews and surveys with respondents in assigned geographic areas, ensuring high response rates and data quality.
- Explain the purpose of surveys and answer respondents' questions clearly and professionally.
- Verify and input collected data accurately into secure digital systems.
- Review survey forms and data for completeness, consistency, and adherence to guidelines.
- Manage and maintain confidentiality of all collected data.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to supervisors.
- Adhere to strict data collection protocols and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with digital data collection tools (e.g., tablets).
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for field work.
- Ability to adapt to varying work environments and interact with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data collection, customer service, or public interaction roles.
- Familiarity with the Lunenburg area or surrounding communities.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
