Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to join our vibrant team in Falmouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality MFL lessons (predominantly French and Spanish, with potential for German) to students across various key stages. You will inspire a love for languages and cultures, helping students develop strong communication skills and a broader understanding of the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Modern Foreign Languages lessons (French, Spanish, potentially German) across Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning and progress of all students, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Develop and implement a stimulating and challenging MFL curriculum that meets national standards and school objectives.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in extra-curricular activities, departmental meetings, and school events.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and guardians to support student progress and well-being.
- Stay current with best practices in MFL teaching and pedagogy, actively engaging in professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or equivalent.
- Degree in a Modern Foreign Language or related field.
- Proficiency in French and Spanish, with the ability to teach up to GCSE level.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum for MFL and current assessment practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching German to Key Stage 3 or 4.
- Experience with A-Level MFL teaching.
- Proven track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Experience with various educational technologies to enhance language learning.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and innovative teaching methods.
