Job Description
ADM is seeking a skilled and dedicated Millwright / Industrial Mechanic to join our team in Champaign, IL. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and reliability of our advanced processing and manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems, ensuring continuous and safe plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, repair breakdowns, and perform overhauls on a variety of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and power transmission systems.
- Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and function.
- Conduct precision measurements and alignments using various tools (e.g., laser alignment tools, calipers, micrometers).
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Fabricate, weld, and cut various materials as needed for repairs and modifications.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in welding (e.g., ARC, MIG, TIG) and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industrial regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Millwright or equivalent certification.
- Experience with conveyor systems, heavy machinery, and processing equipment in a food & beverage or agricultural setting.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems (e.g., motor control circuits, sensors).
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
