Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Catering Van Driver to join our dynamic team. This essential role involves the safe and timely delivery of catering orders to various event venues, businesses, and private residences throughout Newport and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for loading and unloading food items, ensuring proper handling to maintain quality and presentation, and representing Newport Fresh Eats with professionalism. A clean driving record and a commitment to punctuality are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company catering van to transport food and supplies to various event locations.
- Load and unload catering equipment and food items with care, ensuring proper temperature control and presentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
- Assist with basic setup and breakdown of catering items at event sites as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients and catering staff to ensure smooth delivery operations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of local routes in Newport and surrounding Rhode Island areas.
- Punctual and reliable.
