Job Description
Join St. Elizabeth Healthcare as a Registered Midwife and become an integral part of our Women’s Health team in Covington, KY. This unique opportunity is open to experienced and newly qualified registered midwives seeking to provide exceptional care in a dynamic hospital setting. You will play a crucial role in delivering holistic, patient-centered care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, birth, and postnatal periods, contributing to positive health outcomes for families in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive antenatal care, including health assessments, education, and support.
- Manage labor and birth for low-risk women, recognizing and referring high-risk situations promptly.
- Offer postnatal care and support for mothers and newborns, including breastfeeding guidance and newborn assessment.
- Educate patients and their families on reproductive health, parenting, and wellness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all clinical policies, procedures, and professional standards of practice.
- Participate in continuing professional development and training programs.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Midwife in your home country, eligible for U.S. licensure (or willingness to obtain).
- Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and women's health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) license with an active Compact state license (if applicable).
- Certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM) in the U.S. (or actively pursuing).
- Prior experience working in a hospital birth center or labor and delivery unit.
- Experience with diverse patient populations and cultural sensitivities.
