Job Description

Morrisons is offering an incredible opportunity for a Meat Processing / Butcher’s Apprentice to join our team in Middlesbrough. This is a comprehensive entry-level program designed for individuals with no prior experience who are passionate about learning the traditional art of butchery and meat processing. You will receive full, hands-on training from experienced professionals, covering all aspects of the trade, from cutting and preparing various meats to maintaining strict hygiene standards and serving customers. This apprenticeship is your gateway to a highly paid and respected profession within the food industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and master various meat cutting techniques under the guidance of experienced butchers.
- Assist in the preparation of a wide range of meat products for sale, including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, tidy, and comply with strict food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Accurately weigh, price, and package meat products for display.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering advice on cuts, cooking methods, and product recommendations.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and receiving deliveries.
- Operate and maintain butchery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
