Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Operations Manager to join our London team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure and services across various projects and client engagements. You will lead a dedicated team, manage critical systems, and implement best practices to maintain high availability and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of IT operations specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Oversee the daily operations of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and security systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT operational policies, procedures, and best practices (e.g., ITIL).
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of all critical IT systems and services.
- Manage incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and security, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Collaborate with other IT departments, project managers, and business stakeholders to align IT operations with organizational goals.
- Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs) for external IT services and tools.
- Develop and manage IT operations budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT operations management, including leading technical teams.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, virtualization).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- In-depth knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, particularly ITIL.
- Proficiency in incident, problem, and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL certification (v3 or v4).
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Experience working in a global or multicultural environment.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
