This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity within our Manchester office, where you will receive comprehensive, full-time training to become a skilled claims professional. As a Claims Adjuster Trainee, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of insurance claims from initial notification through to resolution, all from a desk-based environment. You will learn to investigate claims, determine coverage, negotiate settlements, and ensure our customers receive fair and prompt service. This role is ideal for recent graduates or those looking for a career change who are eager to learn and grow within a supportive and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a comprehensive training program to understand insurance products, claims processes, and relevant regulations.
  • Manage a caseload of routine insurance claims under supervision, progressing to independent handling as training advances.
  • Communicate with policyholders, third parties, and internal departments via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Gather and analyze information to determine coverage and liability for claims.
  • Negotiate fair and equitable settlements with policyholders and third parties.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed claim records in our systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a logical approach.
  • Ability to learn complex information quickly and apply it effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • A strong customer service orientation and empathy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • No prior insurance experience required – full training provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • An interest in the insurance sector.
