Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Hydrology / Drainage Engineer to join our dynamic team in Edmundston, New Brunswick. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for various projects, including storm sewer design, culvert analysis, and flood plain mapping.
  • Develop detailed drainage plans and designs for municipal, transportation, and land development projects.
  • Utilize advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, WaterCAD) to simulate water flow and analyze impacts.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct site investigations, data collection, and field assessments as required.
  • Ensure designs comply with local, provincial, and national standards and regulations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in hydrology and drainage engineering.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, EPASWMM, XP-SWMM).
  • Strong understanding of stormwater management principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and drafting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eligibility for professional engineering licensure in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or immediate eligibility.
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Familiarity with New Brunswick's environmental regulations and design standards.
  • Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset.
