Job Description
Kaiser Permanente in San Diego is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals for an Entry-Level Hospital Porter position. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to start a career in healthcare, with comprehensive training provided from day one. As a Hospital Porter, you will be a vital part of our patient care team, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. No prior experience is necessary; we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and a commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and comfortably via wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers to various departments (e.g., imaging, therapy, discharge).
- Move equipment, supplies, and specimens between hospital units as directed.
- Assist with the transfer of patients to and from beds, gurneys, or chairs, adhering to proper lifting and safety protocols.
- Deliver and collect patient charts, mail, and other necessary documents.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and designated storage areas.
- Respond promptly and courteously to requests from nursing staff and other hospital personnel.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control standards.
- Provide compassionate and respectful interaction with patients and their families.
