Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Gemologist / Diamond Grader to join our esteemed team in Beverly Hills. This crucial role involves meticulously assessing and grading diamonds and other precious gemstones according to established industry standards, ensuring the highest level of quality and authenticity for our world-renowned clientele. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive grading of diamonds (4Cs: Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity) and other gemstones using industry-standard equipment and methodologies.
  • Accurately identify and authenticate various types of gemstones and their treatments.
  • Prepare detailed gemological reports and certificates for inventory and sales purposes.
  • Collaborate with sales and procurement teams to ensure product quality and integrity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gemological advancements, market trends, and industry regulations.
  • Adhere strictly to Cartier's quality control standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Assist in training junior staff on gemological best practices and grading techniques as needed.

Required Skills

  • Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma from GIA or equivalent recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in diamond grading and gemstone identification.
  • Exceptional visual acuity and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with gemological instruments such as microscopes, refractometers, polariscopes, and spectroscopes.
  • Strong understanding of diamond nomenclature, clarity characteristics, and color grading systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a high-end jewelry or grading laboratory environment.
  • Experience with colored gemstone grading and identification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, particularly French or Mandarin.
  • Knowledge of luxury market trends and customer service principles.
  • Experience with international supply chain protocols for gemstones.
