Job Description
Are you handy with tools and looking for flexible work? Fantastic Furniture in Norwood is seeking a motivated and reliable Casual Flat Pack Assembler to join our retail support team. In this flexible role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling a variety of flat-pack furniture items, ensuring they meet our high quality standards and are ready for display or customer pickup. This is a crucial support position, perfect for someone who enjoys practical tasks and contributing to a bustling retail environment. Full training will be provided, so prior experience is not essential, but a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn are a must!
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assemble flat-pack furniture products according to provided instructions and specifications.
- Perform quality checks on assembled items to ensure structural integrity and correct functionality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the store.
- Assist with moving and displaying assembled furniture on the sales floor.
- Handle various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Support the retail team with other general duties as required, contributing to overall store operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent manual dexterity and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to read and follow assembly instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding and comfort with using common hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches).
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability to lift, move, and maneuver moderately heavy furniture items safely.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with flat-pack furniture assembly (hobby or professional).
- Experience working in a retail or warehouse environment.
