Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Festival Events Crew for upcoming council-sponsored events throughout Tamworth, NSW. This is a temporary role perfect for those looking to gain experience in event management, customer service, and community engagement. You will play a crucial part in the successful execution of various festivals, markets, concerts, and cultural gatherings, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all attendees. This role offers flexible hours, often including weekends and evenings, providing a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with event setup and pack-down, including staging, seating, signage, and equipment.
  • Provide friendly and helpful information to event attendees, directing them to facilities and attractions.
  • Manage entry points, check tickets or registrations, and assist with crowd control.
  • Support event coordinators with logistical tasks and on-the-day problem-solving.
  • Monitor event areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations.
  • Distribute promotional materials and gather feedback from attendees.
  • Operate basic sound or lighting equipment as instructed (training provided where necessary).
  • Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives during events.

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Reliability and punctuality, especially for scheduled shifts.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting/moving equipment (within safe limits).
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Current valid driver's license (preferred but not essential).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or events is a plus.
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Basic understanding of event safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of the Tamworth region and local attractions.
