Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Fencing Labourer to join our dynamic team, focusing on rural fencing projects throughout Tasmania. This is a full-time position offering stable work and weekly pay for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and eager to contribute to essential rural infrastructure. While previous experience in fencing or general labouring is highly regarded, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are paramount. You will be working outdoors in various weather conditions, often in remote locations, performing a range of tasks to construct and maintain high-quality rural fences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe and efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of rural fencing (e.g., boundary, stock, electric).
- Prepare work sites, including clearing vegetation, digging post holes, and trenching.
- Handle and transport fencing materials such as posts, wire, strainers, and gates.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Perform general labouring duties as required on various rural contracting projects.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding manual labour for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
- Valid Australian driver's license and reliable transport to our depot in Glenorchy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in fencing, rural labouring, or general construction.
- White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- Experience operating small plant machinery (e.g., post-hole diggers).
- First Aid certification.
