Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Farm Gate Sales Assistant to join our team for weekend work. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start their career in customer service and sales within a beautiful vineyard setting. You will be the face of Boston Bay Wines, assisting customers, promoting our products, and ensuring a delightful experience for all visitors. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a great attitude and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers warmly at the farm gate/cellar door.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system.
- Provide information about our wines, local produce, and the vineyard.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the sales area and product displays.
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory as needed.
- Handle cash and card payments responsibly.
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience for every visitor.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for weekend shifts.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Enthusiasm for local produce and the wine industry.
Preferred Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the vineyard.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (can be obtained upon employment).
