Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in the electrical trade? Mortenson Construction is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals for an Electrician’s Wire Puller (Mate) position in Duluth, MN. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for someone with no prior experience in electrical work, offering hands-on training and a direct pathway into the skilled trades. As a Wire Puller, you will play a crucial role in supporting our licensed electricians, learning the fundamentals of electrical installations, and contributing to significant construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with pulling and routing electrical wires and cables through conduits, walls, and other structures.
- Help in the preparation and cleanup of work areas, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
- Handle and transport electrical materials, tools, and equipment as directed.
- Support the setup and breakdown of temporary power and lighting systems.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and construction site regulations.
- Observe and learn from experienced electricians, actively asking questions and engaging in on-the-job training.
- Perform other laborer duties as assigned to support the electrical team.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and a strong desire to develop a career in the electrical trade.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and the importance of a safe work environment.
- Capable of performing physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools (training will be provided).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
