Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled E-Learning Specialist / Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the design, development, and delivery of innovative digital learning experiences across the University. The successful candidate will work closely with academic staff, IT services, and other stakeholders to enhance the pedagogical effectiveness and technical quality of our online and blended learning offerings. This position offers visa support for eligible international candidates, demonstrating our commitment to attracting global talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support to academic staff on e-learning best practices, instructional design, and the effective use of learning technologies.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain engaging and accessible online learning materials and resources using various platforms and tools.
  • Administer and support the University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), including Moodle, ensuring its optimal performance and user experience.
  • Create and deliver training sessions, workshops, and documentation for staff and students on new e-learning tools and methodologies.
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging learning technologies, assessing their potential impact and integration opportunities.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and implementation of the University's digital learning initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to e-learning platforms and provide timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and data protection regulations in all e-learning activities.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in administering and supporting a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), preferably Moodle.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and pedagogical theories.
  • Experience in developing engaging digital learning content using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, H5P).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical support.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with multimedia production software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite for video and graphics).
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and their application to e-learning.
  • Certification in relevant learning technologies or instructional design methodologies.
