Job Description

ConnectAbility Australia is seeking enthusiastic and empathetic individuals to join our team as Disability Support Assistants in Warrnambool. You will play a vital role in supporting our clients to achieve their goals, engage with their community, and live with dignity and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support to clients, assisting with daily living activities tailored to individual needs and goals.
- Support clients with personal care tasks, including showering, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Assist clients in accessing and participating in community activities, appointments, and social events.
- Help clients with domestic duties such as meal preparation, light household chores, and maintaining a tidy living environment.
- Support clients to develop new skills and achieve personal milestones outlined in their support plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure a high standard of care.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and NDIS quality standards.
Required Skills
- Genuine empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and commit to ongoing training.
- Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle.
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (we can assist with this).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care, or Home and Community Care).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Previous experience in a support role (volunteer or paid) within the community or healthcare sector.
