Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic technology team in Swindon. In this role, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring our software delivery pipelines are efficient, reliable, and secure. You will work within a collaborative environment, promoting best practices in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and scaling.
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ensure security best practices are integrated into all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support critical systems.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Introduce new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Certifications in cloud platforms or DevOps practices.
