Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Dental Receptionist to join our thriving practice in Aberdeen. This pivotal role involves being the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and efficient service. You will be responsible for managing appointments, handling patient queries, processing payments, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service in a healthcare setting. Full training on our practice management software and dental procedures will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
  • Answer telephone calls, screen and direct calls, and take messages
  • Process patient payments and manage financial records accurately
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and secure patient records in line with GDPR guidelines
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and correspondence
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable at all times
  • Provide information to patients regarding dental treatments, fees, and practice policies
  • Liaise with dentists and dental nurses to ensure smooth patient flow

  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dental practice or healthcare setting
  • Experience using dental practice management software (e.g., SOE Exact, Dentally)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Business Administration or customer service equivalent
