Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Defence Force Recruiting Assistant to join our team in Bristol. This is a civilian support role crucial to the successful operation of defence force recruitment efforts. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process for prospective candidates. This entry-level to junior role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital public service, working within a structured and supportive environment. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the defence force recruitment team.
  • Manage candidate inquiries via phone and email, offering clear and accurate information.
  • Schedule interviews, assessments, and medical appointments for candidates.
  • Maintain and update candidate records and databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and process recruitment-related documentation and correspondence.
  • Assist with the organisation of recruitment events and outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless candidate journey.
  • Undertake general office duties as required to support recruitment operations.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • A professional and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, or office support role.
  • Familiarity with database management systems.
  • An understanding of military or public service recruitment processes (desirable but not essential).
