Job Description

Compassionate Connect Australia is seeking empathetic and resilient individuals to join our team as Text-Based Crisis Support Workers. This fully remote position offers comprehensive training, equipping you with the skills to provide crucial support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, emotional distress, or suicidal ideation via text message. You will engage in sensitive and supportive text conversations, helping to de-escalate situations, provide resources, and empower individuals to navigate their challenges. This is an entry-level opportunity for those passionate about mental health and community well-being, with full training provided to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide empathetic, non-judgmental, and confidential text-based crisis support to individuals in distress.
- Utilize active listening and problem-solving skills to assess situations and develop appropriate support plans.
- De-escalate high-stress situations through compassionate and effective communication.
- Refer individuals to appropriate local and national resources as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions according to organizational guidelines.
- Adhere to all confidentiality protocols and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and supervision to enhance crisis intervention skills.
- Collaborate effectively with a remote team of dedicated support professionals.
