Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Member Services Teller within our community banking branch in Leith, Edinburgh. This role is fundamental to providing exceptional service to our credit union members, handling a variety of transactions, and assisting with their financial needs. You will be the first point of contact for many members, embodying our commitment to friendly, efficient, and personalized service. This is a Monday to Friday position, offering a stable and predictable work schedule within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process member transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers.
- Assist members with account inquiries, statement requests, and basic problem resolution.
- Identify member needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and ensure compliance with all banking procedures and regulations.
- Educate members on digital banking solutions and self-service options.
- Handle member complaints and concerns with professionalism and escalate as necessary.
- Adhere to all security policies and procedures to protect member information and bank assets.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within a retail or financial environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a bank teller or in a similar cash handling position.
- Knowledge of banking products and services.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance procedures.
- NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or a related field.
