Job Description
Are you a high school student, university student, or a young individual looking for an exciting part-time opportunity? Event Cinemas in Murray Bridge is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Cinema Ushers to join our team. No prior experience is required – we’re looking for positive attitudes and a willingness to learn! You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our guests have a fantastic, comfortable, and safe visit, from the moment they step through our doors until the credits roll. This role is perfect for those who love movies, enjoy interacting with people, and are eager to work in a dynamic and fun environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests, directing them to their cinemas and seats.
- Ensure cinema auditoriums and common areas are clean, tidy, and ready for each showing.
- Check tickets efficiently and manage crowd flow during peak times.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve minor issues with a friendly and helpful approach.
- Support the concession stand team when needed, helping with restocking and general tidiness.
- Monitor cinema screenings to ensure an optimal viewing experience for all patrons.
- Assist guests with special needs, including wheelchair access and other accommodations.
- Uphold all safety and security procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for evening and weekend shifts.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for ticket checking and simple transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per roster.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role (even informal, such as school events or volunteer work).
- Enthusiasm for movies and the entertainment industry.
- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (for concession stand support).
- Basic First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
