Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team, providing exceptional food and beverage services within our corporate offices in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for casual day shifts, offering flexibility while working in a professional and supportive environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring a high standard of service for our colleagues and visitors, contributing to a positive and productive workplace atmosphere. This role focuses on daily catering operations, including setup, service, and cleanup, for internal meetings, events, and general canteen services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and presentation as directed by the catering supervisor or chef.
- Serve food and beverages to colleagues and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all catering areas, including kitchens, dining areas, and equipment.
- Set up and clear down dining areas, meeting rooms, and event spaces for catering services.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including coffee machines and dishwashers.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and ordering when required.
- Handle cash or card payments for catering services accurately (if applicable).
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to requests and inquiries promptly and courteously.
Required Skills
- Previous experience (minimum 6 months) in a catering, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent).
- Experience working within a corporate or high-volume catering environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for inventory or payment systems.
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed.
