Job Description
As a Cashier at Tesco, you will be the face of our store, providing friendly and efficient service to our customers. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in retail, with full training provided on all aspects of cash handling, customer service, and store operations. You will process transactions accurately, assist customers with inquiries, and ensure a pleasant shopping experience for everyone. Key Responsibilities
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using the till system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and resolving issues politely.
- Maintain a clean and organised checkout area.
- Assist with bagging groceries when required.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding security and cash handling.
- Support other store duties as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
