Job Description
Are you looking for a physically active role within a peaceful environment? Waterstones in Low Fell is seeking a dedicated Bookstore Display Stacker to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and accessibility of our diverse book collections. You will be responsible for moving, stacking, and organizing large quantities of books, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring our displays are always fresh and inviting. This is a hands-on position requiring a good level of physical fitness and attention to detail, ideal for someone who enjoys quiet, independent work.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently unload and move incoming book deliveries, which may include heavy cartons and large volumes.
- Stack books onto shelves and display units according to store guidelines and merchandising plans.
- Maintain tidy, organized, and visually appealing book displays throughout the store.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management, ensuring older stock is moved and new titles are promptly displayed.
- Ensure safety standards are met during all lifting and stacking operations.
- Support the overall cleanliness and organization of the stockroom and sales floor.
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes (up to 20kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a quiet and focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment (not mandatory, full training will be provided).
- An interest in books or reading.
- Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously.
