Job Description
Join Global Minds UK as a Bilingual & ESL Education Intern and play a vital role in supporting our mission to create equitable educational opportunities. This internship is designed for passionate individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in bilingual education and English as a Second Language (ESL) support within a dynamic community setting. You will work closely with experienced educators and program coordinators, contributing to the development and delivery of resources that help students navigate linguistic and cultural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead educators in preparing and delivering ESL and bilingual learning activities.
- Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce language acquisition and academic concepts.
- Contribute to the creation and adaptation of culturally relevant educational materials and resources.
- Help organize and facilitate workshops and events aimed at supporting bilingual families and students.
- Provide administrative support to the education team, including data entry and resource management.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance learning and contribute to program improvement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in English and at least one other language (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for working with diverse student populations and a passion for education.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Education, Linguistics, Social Work, or a related field.
- Previous volunteer or community engagement experience, especially with youth or educational programs.
- Familiarity with various teaching methodologies for language learners.
